Edinburgh’s first architecture tour company is looking to expand it’s team of guides for a range of walking tours. We are a small tour operator which aims to grow within Edinburgh and beyond.
We lead tours for tourist visits as well as corporate walks and study trips. Our walks aim to explain the intricacies of Edinburgh’s built heritage as well as current urban challenges of the city.
Our customers enjoy being able to have in depth discussion about the urban fabric of Edinburgh in relation to the context, hence our guides are good at sharing their own educated opinion while coming back to the main narrative.
About You
This would be something you do on the side of your main income. Previous guiding experience not essential as training will be provided, but confidence is key. Ideally your main timetable is flexible so you can adapt it to tour bookings. Estimated work load to be about 6h/week (more in Summer).
Apply if you:
Have a minimum of Undergraduate degree in Architecture or Architectural History.
Are a confident speaker, a friendly personality, and a punctual colleague.
Are able to work with flexible working hours and be available short notice.
Are available in May & Summer 2019.
Are fluent in English. Fluency in other languages is an advantage German and French.
Have good memory for names and dates. Passionate about Edinburgh and history.
